At the Alma Rangel Senior Citizens Home’s Community Room in Harlem, Metro Manhattan LINKS, INCORPORATED and NY LINKS joined hands and packaged 234 sanitary items for women and young girls for their “We Care For Haiti” initiative.

This continued effort of course follows the disastrous 7.0 earth quake which on January 12, 2011, hit Haiti’s capital, Port-Au-Prince. It is estimated that the quake destroyed more than 4,000 buildings in the capital and cause 250,000 fatalities. Lack of food, clean water, medical care and the spread of disease still plagues the city may push the death tolls even higher. The NY Metro LINKS and NY LINKS are a vigilant force for continued humanitarian efforts.
