ATLANTA – Thanks to Groovetrak Network member Nat White Jr we are passing along information about the free workshops, “Overcoming the Odds: Success Strategies for Young Black Males”, which will be presented by the Community Council of Metropolitan Atlanta, Inc.
(CCMA) on Saturday, July 28, 2012, 12:30 pm – 3:30 pm, at the Auburn Avenue Research Library, 100 Auburn Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30303. According to Norma Joy Barnes, CEO of the CCMA and founder of the Priority Male Initiative, “Our young black males are in a crisis, and too many of our youth are at risk. The Community Council of Metropolitan Atlanta, Inc. is committed to providing resources to help these young people navigate their journey to success.”
Although the workshop focuses on young black males between the ages of 18-28, it is open to all males, who want to improve themselves academically, vocationally, economically, and personally.
This FREE event includes self-assessments, an interactive workshops, powerful films, open forums, resource panels, health screenings, and exhibitors. Confirmed presenters are educational, vocational, training, employment, legal, re-entry, fatherhood, and men’s health officials.
