According to NYC.gov, Mayor Bloomberg launched “NYC Build it Back,” a program that will help New Yorkers rebuild homes damaged by Sandy
•The goal of “NYC Build it Back” is to help New Yorkers affected by Sandy return to safe, sustainable homes.
•Homeowners or renters whose primary residence in NYC was damaged by Sandy or landlords whose property was damaged by the storm are eligible for the program.
•Everyone who registers will be assigned a housing recovery specialist who is trained to determine eligibility for the program and guide New Yorkers through the process every step of the way.
•“NYC Build it Back” is funded with about $720 million of the $1.77 billion in Federal Sandy recovery funds the City is receiving through the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
•New Yorkers eligible for “NYC Build it Back” can register starting today.
