Jordan, Issa Rae, Tyler Perry, and Ava Duvernay are committed to telling authentic, painful and yet beautiful stories about black people. These stories link us to the true legacies and historic dignity. We have countless people in our history who represented character, perseverance, excellence and triumph in the face of adversities, negativity and racism. I want to be like Winfrey, Jordan, Rae, Perry and Duvernay. I wanted to showcase my contemporaries who represent the best in us, and the best of us”.
